一、教学目标:

1. 教学重点:

三、教学过程

Step 1 Revision and lead-in

Ask students to read the titleAnd play a guessing game. Ask the Ss to use might / could, must , can’t to make inference .

?Step 2. Practice

? Ask the Ss to do more exercise .

Step 3. Summary ?

Get the Ss to summarize how to use must , could/might , and can

Step 5. Drill

? Ask the Ss to do the 4a and 4b .

Step 6. Guess

Get the Ss to guess why Linda was worried ,then tell what will happen .

Step 7 Listening work on 2d

1. T: Ask a student to read the questions.according the questions to guess the answers to the question.

2. Play the recording for the Ss to listen.

3. Ss listenand try to answer the question.??

Step 8. read and find

Ask the Ss to read the conversation and find some inference sentences , and the reasons .

?1 It might still be in the music hall . 2? So it can't be stolen !

?3 So could it still be at the park ??? 4 I think somebody must have picked it up .

1. attend a concert

? attend, join, join in, take part in都有参加的意思。区别是:

attend主要指到场出席会议、宴会、典礼、仪式等。

join指参加某团体或组织成为其中一员或参加活动,是非正式用语。

take part in指参加一项工作, 在其中分担一部分, 也指参加活动并积极工作。

valuable?? adj. 很有用的;宝贵的

? This painting is very?valuable.这幅绘画非常名贵。

He gave us valuable?advice on the problems of education.

他在教育问题上给我们提了宝贵的建议。

3. I think somebody must have picked it up.

? must have picked it up“must + have +??? 过去分词的结构,表示对过去时间里可能发生的事情的推测,语气较强,具有肯定的意思。

--- Linda has gone to work, but her bicycle is still here.??

--- She must have gone by bus.?????

情态动词+have+过去分词

may (might) have + done sth. / can (could) have + done sth., 表示过去,推测过去时间里可能发生的事情。
